Technically this sundew was at ground level, but the ground (embankment) was 2 feet above lake level, which put it at eye level for me puttering about in my kayak. So much easier on the old knees...cool

I hear you, Monica.  One thought I had on this theme was a scenic from a cliff... This is a terrific look at this sundew and it's prey with some fine "dew drops", fine colors, and good sharpness in the head of the insect.

Very nice image Monica!  I would have a very difficult time getting this level of detail and sharpness from a kayak devil.  Very good point of view and DOF, the point of focus is right on too.  Great job!

Very colorful, and wonderfully detailed shot of one of my favorite subjects, and shot using one of my favorite techniques!  The focus on just the right areas at f/5 is superb.

Absolutely gorgeous image, Monica. Even more impressive knowing you shot shot it from a kayak, which is never motionless in the water. Really nicely done!!

Good point of focus at the head, love the green & red combo.

The dew drops add nicely to an already interesting scene..

And from a kayak no less!crying

Love the reflections in all the little bubbles and the reds and greens are certainly harmonious.  Its always so interesting to see nature "in action" like this and you've caught the moment well.

What a great capture, Monica!  I love the detail in this shot and the water drops are a great bonus.  Pretty good trick for bobbing around in a kayak!
