I found this bull along the Madison River in YNP. He had a harem of cows and he had just sparred with the ground and had trash in his antlers. This was the biggest bull I saw this particular trip. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

4 commentsNice bull Jerry. Nicely decorated too. We have a grass them going here for Yellowstone bull elk . . .
Jerry, I like the pose, with the bull looking back into the image plus the grasses in the antlers are good for a chuckle and nicely tell the story about how crazy these guys can get during the rut. I wonder about processing this for reduced contrast especially in the big boy's head, neck, and antlers.
Hello Jerry
Great to see this beauty looking so decorated! Like the pose but would like to see more detail in shadowed front end if possible?
I think also to tone down the background where fallen logs are very bright ,could add overall to the capture.
Thanks for sharing
Bill
Very nicely composed Jerry, you see this a lot with Red Deer rut shots from the UK but first time I have seen it with elk, neat capture. The light looks pretty harsh here, maybe a little bit of shadow/highlight work would help with that.
