April is a great month in our garden with so much going on that it's hard to choose what to shoot and post! And the day lillies haven't even started. We have some really nice callas and I've been working them pretty hard. Here's the first of what should be a short series. All comments welcome. >=))>

4 commentsNice sharp focus on the spadex, Bill, and set off well against the green ground. I like the off centre composition a lot ! Look forward to the series.
Bill, I am a sucker for Callas, and this is an excellent example. Beautiful BG, beautiful flower!
Why did you choose to clip off so much of the right side?
Intriguing comp, Bill. I like the approach. It's good to see others trying different comps. Always gives me ideas for moving out of my own rather narrow comfort level.
Phil & Scott: I find large flowers more of a challenge to shoot because of BG issues, DOF considerations, etc. What I wanted to portray was the flowing lines and the height of the bloom as it seems to come up out of the mists of green. I shot a number of DOF variations but felt this one conveyed the sense of ascending, thus the title. >=))>
