Hi All! Another image from BC. I am sure you will see several more from Jenaya, Josiah and I coming through over the next few weeks...we returned with more favourites than I can likely process!
On our last full day of shooting we met up with another photographer to photograph waterfowl at dawn, and man did it not disappoint! I was actually framing up this shot AS the sun broke over the trees to the east, and the scene in my viewfinder literally changed before my eye. This frame was my pick of the bunch largely because of the body position on my subject (if an animal can be defined as the exclusive subject in a moment like this).
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions and feedback...please view the LARGER version first if you have time; I think it has much more impact. Note that I have cleaned the surface of the lake considerably from various bits of feathers and debris and one protruding stick from a submerged log.

I like the "foggy layers" above the water line.
As always, nicely done!

John, this is a lovely, moody look at this bird (looks very gooselike). I like the glowing mist and the very subtle touches of land showing through.
Exquisite John, love the warm colours of the early morning.
