Purple finch

Finally got a brief chance to get a better photo of a purple finch. Had to shift around a bit to try and reduce the busy background and avoid branches crossing the finch. Couldn't get away from the branch going behind the bird.

The bg branch isn't bad considering the color contrast, John. Nice light and excellent detail on the finch.

Nice pose and detail. I think the branch is blurred enough so it doesn't draw attention away from the finch. I'd be tempted to remove the branch projecting into the left upper corner. :toast:

Nicely captured, the light on the upper part of the bird draws enough attention away from the slightly busy background. Works for me ! Cheers, Hans

Really nice detail in the Finch and a sweet perch. Yea it would be nice not to have that branch behind the bird but it is oof enough not to be too distracting. I like his feet too!
