Great Egret Launch

Made my first trip of the season to the rookery on the campus of UT Southwestern Medical Center in downtown Dallas. There were lots of Great Egrets already sitting on nests. I caught this guy bringing nesting material to his mate. Never get tired of watching this behavior. I like the fact that both feet are off the perch and that he has building material in his beak. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Excellent capture. In addition to the launch into flight and him carrying the nesting material you have captured a plain background, maintained the whites as well as the detail throughout. Love it!

Nice catch of the moment of separation from the perch. Whites look good, the sky may be a little dark. Well done! :toast:

I too thought the image was a bit dark. Hope this looks a little better.
