(W-repost) On the riverbed
by Jagdeep Rajput
Herd of Indian Elephants on the riverbed of river Ramganga.
This image is about 20 yrs old taken on Fujichrome and, still very active in my portfolio. Happened to post this in colour at NPN, long time back, which of course remain a preferred medium. But, IMHO it works well in B&W as well.
Looking forward to your take on this.
Thank you so much for your views n comments!

7 commentsThe horizontal banding gives a nice depth to the image and the clouds of dust gives a nice sense of movement. Viewing the larger image it doesn't look B/W there seems to be a hint of colour in there, did you try changing it to Greyscale? I wonder if tweaking the Levels or Brightness may help in adding a bit more 'Tonal contrast', personal I guess, but do like the OP.

You're correctly seeing hint of colour, it is sepia-toned B&W.

I like this, but have to admit when I first looked at it I instantly wondered what it would look like in colour. Perhaps you could post the 720 pixel version of the colour one here?
Back to this one - love how the dust picked up the light. The multiple parallel horizontal lines appeals to my eye, and I like how they abut against the large rocky slope.
Cheers...

Here's the colour version for you.
Mario: This was taken from the hill top and tele-converters were not popular during that period.

Jagdeep, far and away I will say unequivocally I like the color! It is head and shoulders above the B/W.
