Swamphen 2

Beautiful reflections, Balan, and the swamphen is a beautiful bird, but to my eye, it's a bit of a discordant element in this composition.

This is quite dramatic, Balan, with the strong colors of the swamphen contrasting with the muted colors of the reflections. I like all the reflections but there would be a lot of fairly blank space without the reflections from the swamphen's wake. I do wonder about a tighter crop that would include just the two brown reflections and put the bird near the lower left 1/3rd crossing point. For me, that would let the bird be the main subject but in a really interesting setting. In this view, I think there's some competition as to the main subject with neither the bird or the reflections dominating.

The striking bird stands out well in this "less abstract" composition, so I don't see the need for that much background. In particular, I don't think the lighter reflections in the upper left add anything to the composition.
