Amber Eyes

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted March 22, 201571 views6 comments
I captured this image of a lioness at the Fort Worth zoo a few months ago. I thought it would fit in the weekly challenge well, as I was immediately drawn to her eyes. I chose to go with a black and white image and left the eyes colored. I thought this would be something different and add some interest.

Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Yes, Jerry, leaving the color in her eyes really lets them grab my attention. I'm also thoroughly enjoying the detailed textures in her fur and the subtle gradations in darkness that going b&w emphasizes. In the larger version her stare is very intense.

Nice move on the process Jerry, and mission accomplished! I think the pose works better than if she had been staring straight at the camera; looks like she's waiting for a handout from the dinner table  Nice detail in the whiskers.

I like the pose--almost like wishing for something tasty to come out of the sky. Leaving the eye color in place works perfectly here................Jim
