Well, as I am posting this, the Vernal Equinox is a little over 5 hours away, but this goldfinch (shot a couple of days ago near my home) could not wait to make the announcement. It's amazing how quickly the colors are coming back, even though we still have feet of snow on the ground where I live. But there is no holding back the lengthening daylight.

Canon 7D Mark II; 100-400mm.
1/200 sec. @ f/6.3; ISO 1250
(shot using an Acratech GP ballhead in "gimbal" mode)

You're right, the birds are migrating and the sound of their music lifts the spirits. Unfortunately it is snowing like there is no tomorrow here... so far 5" and counting. Winter is still holding on. As for the picture, good detail, nice composition with a great perch and background. Well done.

Nicely captured, Wayne, with a great background, catch light in the eye, feather texture and more. You have really gotten blasted with snow this winter, but spring will come!!

Everything is working here: the pose, sharp detail, perch and background. A very pleasing shot. :toast:

The details in this little one are great, Wayne, plus showing off the gentle winter colors well. The background does a good job of adding some extra framing around the bird.
