Big and Small...

...there's room for all!

Funny how certain photos take a couple of years to jump out at you. I took this in 2013 in Etosha, and never looked twice at it until this weekend...

Don't you just love the size difference here? A massive giraffe bull and a petite springbok ewe quench their thirst at sunset in the Etosha National Park, Namibia.

And no - I didn't have time to reposition to separate the head of the giraffe and the springbok ;)

Techs:
Nikon D3s
Nikkor 500mm f4 VR-II
f5.0 | 1/400 SS | ISO-900

Great title. The title "Odd Couple" would have also worked. I really enjoyed seeing the size difference in these two guys. The comparison is made especially interesting in that the giraffe's head is so close to the Springbok's. I would bet the Giraffe's head weighs as much as the Springbok. Really interesting capture. You might want to look through some other images you haven't processed. I bet you find more gems like this.

That's a really cool shot showing the size difference so well Morkel, great lighting too. I think ideally there would be a bit of separation between their heads but that's very minor here. Sweet shot. :toast:

What a wonderful shot! Only way to improve this is would be for the water to be broad enough for an entire reflection. :  :toast:

Hi Morkel,

Yep, that size differential is definitely striking! I like how the powerful leading line provided by the neck of the giraffe leads directly to the little springbok.

Cheers...
