This is a small pond in the Swiss Jura.An image that took me a couple of years until I finally could take the image I was after.Either there was no snow on the trees or there was snow and the small lake wasn't frozen or the ice was covered with snow. Finally a couple of weeks ago the conditions were not bad so I went visiting this place. This were the best conditions I had up there in winter in 8 years.

D810, 24-70/f2.8 @32mm, iso64, f11, 1/2 sec, soft ND Grad 0.6

Nice conjunction of sunrise and snow and overflow. As an Alaskan it is easy to identify with such scenes. Thanks for your perseverance and sharing!

Hi Bill, I visited from time to time and remember many good shots. Great to see you keeping up the good work. The pond looks fantastic, reminds me of the salt plains of death valley.

Bill, this image has everything a person could ask for. Unique foreground, great middle, and a sweet sky. My list keeps growing of locations to visit when a certain set of circumstances presents itself. Great perseverance in finally getting it right. Nice work as always.

This is beautiful, Bill! Especially the darker spots in the ice are a very interesting detail. No nits!
