Stormy evening

A long exposure (3 minutes) of my camping spot in the Swedish mountains. I still can't believe most details were captured relatively steady in the photo, because it was really storming at this point. I guess it's because the wind wasn't constant but came in gusts. I protected the camera with my body by standing behind it to minimize vibrations due to the wind. Another fantastic spot to spend the night!

24 mm, f/11, ISO 200, 3 min, ND6 (I think, might also have been an ND10), grad ND3

C&C welcome, large version is included!

I'm liking everything about this shot Roel, depth, composition, color, processing, most excellent; the larger view is a must see. :toast:

Great job in pulling this off with a 3-minute exposure. Excellent comp and good campsite with a great view.

Cool spot to camp! Looks great on the large view. Amazing the wind did not seem to affect it.

The only thing that I can see that gives away the long exposure are the clouds. I like the muted colors and tones very much!

Marvelous image Roel. The color balance is so appealing here and the detail in that grass is amazing. What an inviting place. A perfect candidate for Man and Nature. You just want to go there. I can't find a way to improve this. What camera/lens was this shot with, if I may ask?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Igor, this was shot with a Nikon D700 and a 16-35 mm lens!

Nicely balanced comp Roel. Wonderful detail in the larger version and the sky looks great with the long exposure.
