The sun began to prevail as a winter storm cleared over the Grand Canyon January 2. I was drawn to the play of light and shadow and the color palette. All comments welcome.>=))>

There is nothing like a dusting of snow to really bring out the layering in the sandstone. Beautiful light.

Fantastic comp Bill and a sweet moment expertly rendered. Great depth all of the way to the river's light at the bottom. It's a shame that the light wasn't reversed with the brightest spot on the central tower and the light shadow on the cliff on the left but that's really reaching for a nit.

Bill that is one very nice image of the Grand Canyon. Love the ochre colour in the midground stack with the snow dusting with the redder desert colour rock far in the distance. It looks like it was a fantastic day to be there.

Bill, you hit the canyon at an amazing time. I think the snow added a wonderful element and the comp is spot on.
