I photographed this clump of back-lit white oak leaves last Sunday. I thought it made a nice abstract. The background is a large oak tree trunk. K5 IIs 180mm f3.5 (1/125sec at f4.5, ISO 250). 16 image stack Pmax, Rubber stamp cleanup, select sharpening, Make It Glow, Luminosity Masks, Brightness and Contrast. I'm done get a fork  ............Jim

This is fun! Beautiful glowing color sandwiched between the nice bg and the duller front of the leaf. Great texture, too. No nits from me, I'm really enjoying this nice natural abstract.

Gorgeous tones, Jim, and great use of the backlight to bring out so much detail. You've also done a fine job in smoothing out the oak trunk in the bg.

Good stack! Having mostly flat surfaces to stack really helps avoiding the halos. A good illustration of the worth of stacking, with the sharply focused subject in front and the very OOF background almost averaged out. A lot of work, but good results. :toast:

Jim: If only there wasn't that little empty leaf stem in the URC where the main stem enters the frame. Just kidding  I think this is marvelous. Good subject, light, comp and capture. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Unique and very beautiful, Jim. It takes a photographer to see the beauty hiding in a dead leaf and then help the rest of the world to see it as well.

The tree trunk in the back really lets these leaves glow, Jim. There's a fine warmth that speaks to me of the subtleties of color and lighting even in the depths of winter. Very well seen and captured.

Unique subject with which you made a fine natural abstract, taking full advantage of the contrast between light and shadow. There can be a lot of beauty and fine color during winter time. This is a prime example.
I am contemplating a 16-image stack @ f 4.5, which makes my eyes water! But the result is brilliant!!
