Harvest Moon in March

by Richard Teller

Gallery: Man & NaturePosted March 6, 20153,322 views5 comments
Full moon on the horizon. The big orange moon rising over the farms in the Platte River Valley. The sun had gone down about 10 minutes before the moon came up allowing me to get detail in the landscape. Thanks for you comments and critiques.

Canon 7D
Sigma 120-400
Manual
Shutter 0.3 sec
Aperture f11
ISO 400
400mm
Tripod and remote shutter release
Sharpening and work to bring out some more detail in the landscape.

Great look at the moon, Richard. I also like how the strips of clouds across the bottom of the moon are mimicked by the fields. The light balance between the moon and the landscape is excellent.

I like this a lot Richard. Just something about the big red moon and all those Platte River farms - a great combination. Really takes me back to that part of the country.

Great photo, the large photo really gets you into it, and does not let you leave,

Well taken Richard!  Very well!  I like the detail you have in the FG as well as the trace of clouds in front of the moon.  Might take a look at croping out more of the FG, just to see what it looks like.  Thanks for sharing.
