Midnight, Walker Lake
by Tom Falley
Summer with the endless days in the arctic is a very special time, the golden hour drags on and on and it may be necessary to be up at 2AM!
Walker Lake is a large lake in the Gates of the Arctic Park, some 14 miles long. Before the park showed up I lived in a small cabin at the far North end of the lake at the foot of the mountain.
This one is a panorama, I think from a Canon 5D II. A great place to camp and fish and prowl with a camera.

5 commentsIMHO "only" good the shadow zone of the mountain on the left, with a little (but can be natural) lighty halo.
All the best,

In all seriousness I like the simplicity of the comp. The golden light contrasts nicely with the mostly silhouetted landscape. I also like the effect of the crepuscular rays.
