Taken at the Sugar Grove Nature Center in central Illinois. There were several of these around the building waiting their turn at the feeders. Very overcast and flat light. Also gusting winds.

1/200 @ F-6.5 ISO 640
Canon 3.8-247 @ 247mm

Bird stands out nicely against the BG -- thinking that more Fstop would have helped keeping focus beak to tail

Attractive little guy. The light you had to deal with didn't help you here. It looks a bit flat and it is also soft. There are some processing things you could do to make it better, but to be honest, the capture you obtained doesn't give you much to work with.

Nice comp and pose from the Finch. It's not as sharp as some of your recent images. Probably because of the low flat light you had to work with.

Nice species, however the image looks rather soft. Maybe 1/200s was not enough with the gusting winds ? Cheers, Hans
