Smoke Eagle
I'm not terribly fond of the cold so when temperatures dropped dramatically this week, I decided to do some indoor work.
This image was created from smoke coming from an incense burner. I placed a black background behind the smoke and lit it with flash from underneath the smoke stream. I then took several of the smoky photos and spent a good deal of time with selecting small segments of the smoke, free-transforming, warping and liquifying the pieces to create this image of a bird. I also brought it into NIK Color Efex Pro, and Viveza for some color, contrast and overall finishing touches. I have a full writeup of the method on my Blog.
