Took this a year ago when the ocean was whipped up out in Montauk, NY with my telephoto

Nikon D7100 300mm f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/8
1/2000s
ISO 500

Full Frame, minor adjustments including the B&W conversion

excellent IMHO. Some highlights are "hot" (white without detail), but these zones are little and do not disturb.
Assured and fantastic composition and very good also the B/W tuning.
all the best,
Sandro

That's quite a catch on this wave action, Luke, with the break well placed and all of the spume flying off the top.

Nicely presented monochrome with a full range of tones. A bit more room at the top would have been good but viewers never know what lurks up there... I might have cloned out the dark spot in the ULC just for the sake of balance.

Hi Luke,

The force of the wave can really be felt in this capture, and the B&W presentation works very well with the contrast factor. I like it as you have presented it, and thanks for sharing this intimate wave scene.

Beautiful shot. I like the choice of exposure. Shows just enough motion to show the wave's power, but fast enough to see the wave's detail and drps of spray.
