Feeding time - AGAIN!

This old fence that was decaying and has seen better days was providing a good source of food, bugs & beetles to help feed the ever demanding young. Just too close on either side unfortunately, the image needed more room, but that's the issue with a fixed lens, however in all honesty I wasn't quite expecting this and nothing was clipped too.

Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

Sweet capture. The interaction is very nice. I might try adding a bit more contrast to the owls. They look ever so slightly flat to me. Great capture.

Very neat interaction Steve. With respect to space, it is as you told it-still a cool shot. :toast:

Cheers Jerry, I tend to avoid Contrast, I much prefer Channels, Curves & Midtones because I have far more control, Contrast may/can choke the finer areas of detail I've found. I can see where you are coming from, but happy that tonally it reflects the situation, sadly we don't get the amount of sun you guys do.

Hi Chuck, these guys have provided hours of enjoyment and often it's more about watching than shooting. Sometimes you can gauge the situation other times like this, well...

It may be a bit tight, but it works for me. The expression on the parent's face is marvelous

You caught the parent perfectly and the title Feeding Time AGAIN describes the image well. Representing parents everywhere one frequently must stand on one leg, flair the wing, open mouth and all the while keep a steely eye on that chick. Well done!

A very nice moment captured. Pleasing OOF background. Could stand a bit more DOF to hold both owls. It's always tough to pull off enough DOF with long lenses and close subject distances. I'm not wild about the big log as it holds a lot of visual mass but it is where they were.

Wow! This picture is really amazing. I would love to get some pictures of little owls because they are so cool and very cute. The owls have lots of detail in their faces and it is really cool how the mom is giving food to the baby.

Thanks guys, glad you liked it. Keith B, agree with you re the log, but that's life, wish it was far more sympathetic and rustic, but it's their choice
