Photo taken at the Stone zoo near Boston. This fellow was defending his territory as I approached the cage.

Great look at the eyes and I like the sharp focus on the face and then how the image softens from there. I would try and brighten up the weights as they appear a bit grey with a touch of blue cast on them

Hi Hisham,
I agree with Luke's comments on brightening up the whites. The eyes are intense. Well done with the pose ..................Jim

Hi Luke and Jim,
The light was from the side so brightening the whites overexposed the right side of the frame a bit.
Thanks!
Hisham.

Hi Hisham! Great look from this fox! I prefer the original post, but might consider something in between. I don't disagree with the suggestions to brighten the whites, but I think you've brightened the full image on the repost. Personally, I kind of like the mood you have in the original without doing a thing to it, but like Luke and Jim, suspect a minor tweak to the middle and brighter whites might make for a SLIGHTLY stronger image. The higher-key feel to the repost is pretty cool, too, though. Maybe mask the eyes and nose out from the curves adjustment (or whatever approach you took) or only go mid-way on them. Great shot either way!

Hi John,
Here is a version that is brightened in between the previous two.
Cheers,
Hisham.

Super shot, the eyes have it here! Lovely use of shallow DoF. Whichever tone you decide on won't ruin this great shot, it's a personal choice for you to make I feel. I like the original myself, has a touch of softness and mood to it.

Great detail and dof. I also really like the way the face is sharp and goes out of focus. I personal like the third image, but any one works well.

Beautiful! The eyes are outstanding! Great detail with the shallow DoF. The 3rd image is my favorite. Very nice execution.

I like the third one best, but also like the first. A good look at this small fox. I would consider a vertical crop, just to see how it looked. Thanks for sharing.

I like the third image the best. It strikes a nice balance. The detail is excellent, and those eyes are really special.

Hi again, Hisham! Sorry I wasn't able to respond earlier, but your third post was exactly what I was suggesting in my earlier comment. As others have said, it honestly looks great in all three versions, but the third is definitely my choice for overall quality and impact. Beautiful shot.

Hisham,
This is a very sweet shot. I like the way the head seems to morph into the background.
