Maui Moonset

Early morning view from our rented condo at Kihei in December. My first trip to Hawaii and certainly an Ahhh morning for me. Cloned out a few small items on one of the trees. I processed it in ProPhoto RGB and it surprised me how much the color changed when converted to sRGB. I had to reprocess to get the color back close to the original.

Hi Daniel. Welcome to NPN, lovely first post. The twilight colors are great and having the full moon up there adds very nicely to the scene as do the silhouettes of the trees.

A couple of things wrt your color conversion issue. What software are you using and are you using a wide gamut monitor? My experience with Lightroom and Photoshop is that when all things (and some of them can be hard to find) are set right, the colors are maintained well, but my monitor's color space is barely bigger than sRGB so I'm not seeing all the color benefits of ProPhoto RBG. Really nice shot Daniel, I like the silhouetted trees with the full moon up high and the rising sun just turning the lower sky pink. Looks like your horizon may be a bit off kilter; I'm always having to fix mine even though I have lines in my viewfinder...its a curse!
