Beautiful view and very peaceful, Barb. Having slept on a friend's small sail boat a few nights, I can attest to how peaceful it feels when there's lovely light and gentle rocking. My favorite part of this image is the waves of reflection spreading across the water. The scattered clouds in the sky are great as well.

Barb, the colors in this image are very beautiful and realistic. You might want to try cropping about half of the bottom off as it does not seem to add much to the image and it would also pull the boat down lower.

Excellent choice for the challenge, Barb! Some of my most peaceful memories are of boats on calm days in beautiful places. Your exposure is just right on this shot and the sky is striking but soft which adds to the tranquility. I have to agree with Carol about the suggested crop. It would make it more of a panorama but I think that would be a good thing. Nice kick-off for this theme!

There's nothing like being out in a boat, cruising along slowly at sunset to put ones mind at ease. Been too many years since I have had that experience, this image takes me back.

Hey Barb,
This is my favorite time of day on the water and this composition portrays the peaceful feeling of Day's End perfectly.
Well done . . . :toast:
