Confidence Sunset

Another dry wash leading line looking towards the Black Mountains. From last spring at our way, way windy campsite in the Confidence Hills of Death Valley, hence the higher ISO. Didn't get much sleep that night.

f/14, 1/15 sec, ISO-400, 27mm.

Very nice leading line taking the eyes to the sweet morning light on the mountains. You capture the desolate feeling of Death Valley very well.

Dave, this is a fine look at a sunrise, that it sounds like you were anxious to have arrive. I like how the wash leads my eyes to the well lit mountain in the distance. You've got both a good sense of being there and of lots of space here.

Nice morning scene, very classically Death Valley.

Beautifully shot image with leading lines to the distant mounts. The mountains are particularly appealing. There is nice detail in the fg to keep you interested all the way through. Some of those rocks may look a bit blue but I've seen them and in the morning shadows they do have that color. The image seems tilted but there are so many slopes and inclines in DV that it's hard to tell where the true level really is.

This is a real nice Death Valley morning, Dave. Only nit I have, is that the rocks in the foreground are cut off both left and right. Guess you gotta draw the line somewhere.

That's pretty. It gives the impression that there's precious minerals to be found right there in that dry wash. Nice light on the mountains, too. It's an incredible place. Nicely done; this is really easy for my to look at.

Nice light depth, here, Dave. The dry wash adds a fine lead in to the valley and mountains beyond.

Hi Dave,

I really like the leading line of the dry wash, the different color tones through out the image, and the wonderful light on the mountains. This is a really nice view the Death Valley area, and I really enjoy the view.

Appreciate the comments everyone. I agree on the cut off rocks, Gary, should have taken a step back. BTW, as to the wind, you can see in the valley below that there are large clouds of dust being kicked up. It didn't let up all night :frown:
