House finch

Had not seen too many house finches so was glad to see a few show up in our backyard. I liked how this one perched on a low bush instead of being down in the snow. Not sure if I should have cropped out the stalk on the right side. Thought it framed the bird.

These bids have such nice colors - just wish the bird was facing the other way!

Nice colors and good feather detail, John. I agree with you about not cropping out the stalk on the right side. Nice pose with the seed in the beak.

I, actually, like the view of his cute red bum! I do wish for a bit of light on this face

Fine as is. You might try brightening up the head some.

Beautiful and colorful finch. Looks sharp and I like the snow in the background. I don't mind the stalk on the right, but the OOF stalk just below the bird sort of interferes with the definition of the bird, for me. I am envious that you get these birds in winter. Ours always migrate out and return in the spring.

Hi John,

You captured some nice details and colors with this house finch. You might be able to tease out more detail on the head with a little brightening.................Jim
