Beautifully presented cosmos. Great colors, details and composition. Can't get much better than this.

Beautiful subject, and beautifully captured, Ian. Terrific detail in the center, and the yellow is perfectly rendered.

I was surprised to see this is a stacked image shot at f9. Your stack looks flawless with no artifacts. I guess I am curious why you choose not to include some detail in the closest petal (LLC). I don't have a problem with it as is, but I think if I were to go to the trouble of taking multiple images and processing this as a stacked image, I'd probably include some detail in that petal as well, but it is certainly excellent as is. :toast:

Scott : thanks for the comment. I've always liked a bit of play between soft and sharp, so in stacking I have generally avoided complete sharpness through the depth of field; I think that can look a touch super real, if you see what I mean. Just a personal preference.

I agree, Ian, that, in floral close-ups, there is an art to stacking so everything is just not rendered sharply in focus (generally speaking of course). And, yes, it often comes down to personal preference with no right or wrong. :wavey:

Looks terrific, Ian. The sharpness across the center is terrific and really lets it stand out against the lovely purples of the petals. Excellent work.
