I've been to this place in the last two or three years so many times and also remember it from my childhood and never ever I witnessed such light and color before. It was so gorgeous.

Lovely wash of color indeed and some really nice layers. IMO, the contrast could use a bump, maybe Nice capture

Just beautiful. The elements of this pretty comp come together well in this photo.

Single exposure @ 23 seconds?

I am guessing that the camera recorded light that the eye could not see.

It’s wonderful how modern cameras allow us to utilize these low light conditions.

The glow on the lower trees is fantastic .

Way to take advantage of the unique conditions.

Sweet…

That is quite gorgeous colour that is flooding your scene and it's saturation feels both kind and realistic to my eyes as does the contrast levels chosen. The reflected blue sky on the snow is particularly pleasing when juxtaposed with the amber pink light from the rising/setting sun.

Excellent long exposure. I am always amazed at what light is really there to be collected. :toast:

Nikon D810,24-70/f2.8(@86mm),

Bill, did you use some sort of an extension tube to get 86mm from the 24-70mm?

Richard Hartmann, my mistake. Of course I used the 70-200/f.8 lens. I'm sorry.

Gorgeous light for sure, very well done! Is that a fence or something that I see on the edge of the big rock?

Roel Wijtmans Yes it's kind of a stone fence...of course man made.....I thought it's so small and not really important in this image that I could post it in landscape

I am blown away by the light Bill. This image is just a magical scene with a beautiful diagonal line created by the ridge and the trees. The glow that is emanating from the snow covered trees is very special.

Breathtaking work Bill :toast:

Thanks for the reply Bill! I didn't mention it to suggest it should be in M+N, I was just curious. I agree with posting it here!

Definitely some lovely colors, Roland. There's also lots of interest from the snowy trees and especially that prow of ridge pointing right to the brightest area of the sky.

This is actually nearing an abstract for me -- all the different geometric shapes of the image really give it an artistic feel. Very cool and very original. The light is simply sublime, too. Fantastic.
