Jan 1 Sunset

As some others have mentioned... all photographic plans for a specific day can change if mother nature doesn't co-operate!

I had planned for a sunrise image, but we had a completely overcast sky for much of the day. Then I thought about photographing a group of moose I'd been watching for some time. I saw them on Dec-31 and again on Jan-02, but not on New Years Day. I also saw more than I expected on Jan 4 (it's posted HERE in the wildlife gallery if you like moose!).

So, what was left on New Years day was sunset - and thankfully, the sky cleared!

But you got some gorgeous sunset colors!! The soft colors and tones in the sky are very realistic and give one a sense of being there. The red barn, although small, adds a very beautiful touch. All the best to you too!

Very interesting winter scene. I like the colors in the sky, and wonder if they might be better just a bit darker. Also like that you have detail in the farm area. Maybe the moose are in there somewhere? Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a wonderful evening, guess it's good that your moose heard about the challenge and decided to hide.

The colors in the clouds are lovely and I like the top to bottom transition of pinks to the darker blues of the distant peaks, to the brown & white of the foreground. It's a lovely scene, with the big barn well placed.
