Early Morning Cypress

An image from middle of March last year of a grove of small cypress in Lake Martin, LA. The early sun was just beginning to illuminate the delicate branches, which I thought contrasted nicely with the light mist on the lake. Cropped to 3:2 aspect from 4/3rds original.

You gotta love those cypress trees, Bill. They have to be the most photogenic trees around. I like the muted reflection and the light on the branches. Very nice.

The warmth of the sunlit branches against the cooler greys of trunk and water is very nice. the rhythm of the verticals adds a lot as well. Nicely done

Bill: Very cool scene. I do like the branches but think I would crop from the top some to get rid of most if not all of the open sky showing in the URC. It pulls my eye a bit and if I scroll it off the page I can concentrate on the wonderful details. >=))>

Hi Bill,

This a great group of trees, and the light on the branches is beautiful. The misty lake and reflections compliment the upper portion of the image well. I like the idea of a crop down to eliminate the sky.

Very nice work in photography
