Wind & the Pennant

Friends of ours have a nice farm pond that Jenny takes the dogs for water rescue training. While the Newfs are jumping off of boats and doing crazy things big dogs love to do, I try to get dragonfly shots. Unfortunately, it was quite windy on that day, but I could not resist a calico pennant perched on Equisetum. K10D 180mm f3.5 (1/320 sec at f11, ISO 250) CS crop for comp, Shadows/Highlights, Topaz Detail, TK's sharpening...................Jim

Excellent, Jim. Terrific pose on the reed, and a really nice contrasting brownish/greenish color scheme throughout the image. The DF stands out beautifully from the clean bg. :toast:

It doesn't look like the wind caused much problem - tack sharp and a beautiful pose!

The details in the df and in it's perch are great, Jim. Getting the red stigma to show so well is a nice touch.
