We had lots of extremely dull and very wet weather during our trip to Kwando/Kwara. This meant that on this occasion I had to use a high ISO something which I really dislike. So please excuse the image quality.
Taken near Lagoon airstrip, Kwando concession < northern Botswana.
EOS 1DX
200-400mm F4 at 243 mm
F5.6
ISO 3200
1/100

The image quality is the least of my concerns Ken . . . . It's all about the moment captured . . . Well Done !! :toast:

Sometimes subject matter trumps techs. This is one of those time. Cool shot. What was going on that allowed you such a shot?

Ken, that's some serious air! I'm also curious to hear more about the moment.

He needs a cape! You have really captured the sense of airborne and did a good job of panning to get the face in decent focus. Cool. My wish would have been for a more uniform background without that bright sky...but I guess when they fly, you get sky. Is there a story?

Thanks everybody for your comments, which are much appreciated.
Firstly Wild Dogs love to play.
Around 6 years ago the water levels in the area rose following a slight tilt in the tectonic plate, the same tilt that lead to the eventual filling up of the Savute channel.
The airstrip began to flood and it's owners the Botswana Defence Force (an oxymoron if ever there was one) erected sandbag walls around the strip to stop the flooding, these have now become overgrown with vegetation.
In this instance the Dogs in playful mood (as always) just ran along the top leaping over the low points.
Just wish the weather had been better

You captured a great moment here! Love the look in his/her eyes.... The only thing missing is a red cape I think!

Ken,

This one is interesting - nice job on capturing the action. I'm in agreement with Lon about the background sky, but little you could do to control that.
