Don't remember if this is the same fox or one of its siblings - but taken a few minutes after the last post. This one was digging a hole near the edge of the parking lot (even pounced once - though I missed it with the camera). I'm assuming there was a vole or something under there...

Nikon D7100 300mm f4 + 1.7X TC HH from car
f/8
ISO 640
1/500s

Cropped to 75% for compositional purposes, minor adjustments

Gorgeous tones in this one, Luke! I love the pose you caught as well. I have to say I have seriously been in error by ignoring our local foxes after they passed the adorable-kit phase...this is such a handsome youngster!

You sure get better than normal results with that 1.7 TC. You can tell it was in play by the bokeh in the background grass, but it was still the right call IMO for a great final presentation.

I'll agree with John about the colors in this. The fox itself is truly gorgeous. What color! Nice pose and a wonderful BG to show off this fox. I don't know if your lens was stabilized but hope it was. Handholding a 300k can be tiring. Nevertheless, a nice catch.

Another great fox shot. Overall, though, I prefer the pose and the more grassy background in the previous post.

Great shot Luke. I like the stance, sharpness and BG.

In comparison to the last post, this guy's expression is telegraphing displeasure with your presence. After all you're a challenge for his food source. More interaction here.

Hey Luke,

My favourite part of this shot is the look on the face of this one - it does NOT seem to be a happy camper! Didn't know foxes could "glower" before I saw this.

Cheers...

I really like this picture because the fox has really nice detail in the fur and I love its pose.
