I put the booties on my dog to protect her from the cholla out in the Mojave Preserve. I had to pull one cholla burr out with pliers a bit before this, prior to putting on the booties. Maggie was none too happy about it, but overall, was a good sport. With them on, she walks like a real dork, but they work well.

Who'da thunk it! Good idea, though. I understand cholla thorns can be very persistently attached and quite painful to remove.

Yeah, and they seem to just jump off the bush and onto you. While there is no official "jumpin cholla" you really gotta be careful around these things. Poor Maggie: I hope the rest of the day was funner.

I'm pretty sure Maggie's thinking " when the hec are we going home". She's very tolerant of your shenanigans but this may have crossed a line.

You should've done a video of her walking with the booties. That would've been a hoot!
