The warm light on the landscape is pretty sweet. I would work on bringing out the cool tones in the sky and shadows a bit more to contrast with this. Compositionally it's only OK for me because that bigger tree on the right throws the balance off IMO.

Nice image. For me, the upper half of the image is a little flat. Maybe a bump in contrast between the mountains and sky to give it more pop???

Thanks for the comments guys. Skies have always been a challenge for me, on this evening the sky was cloudy all around with rain and dust except in the southwest where the Sun was. I'll try reworking it, thanks again.

I agree with the other comments, John. I'd like to see your rework of this one.

Wonderful colors and I imagine it was quite an evening. I agree with some of the comments about the sky. I think if you can resolve some of those issues you've got a very nice image.

As requested a little reworking of the temp, contrast and crop. Thanks again for the suggestions. Happy New Year!

Stunning light and beautiful glowing color. the re-post is even better with the added contrast. For me, a little more room in the front would have been nice but its certainly not a deal breaker.

Neat combination of warm land and cool sky, John. I also like the contrast in "structure" between the trees and the ridges behind them. The repost is a good improvement.

Nancy, I agree about more FG but this was at the crane pools along Highway 1 so I cropped the RR track out.

The repost works much better for me John. The light is gorgeous, and the framing in the repost helps to balance the image. I still would leave the sky at it's original height in the first post though John.
Give it that slight crop, and it is good in my book.

I think the repost works very well, John. The crop and additional contrast give this scene a little more pop. The light is really nice here. No one else mentioned it so it just may be me, but the color in the sky still looks off a bit; to much cyan maybe. Just a thought.
