I'm an admitted DV-aholic and that goes for longer lenses, too, for the compression and abstraction they bring to the landscape. A beautiful morning, as they all seem to be, out on the Ibex Dunes. I like that there were little tufts of vegetation to provide a hint of scale.

Canon T1i, f/16, 194mm, ISO-200, 1/40 sec, tripod.

This is simply a stupendous image, Dave - I cannot offer any suggestions for improvement, it is great the way it is. :jump:

(This from another guy who regularly attends meetings of DVholics anonymous)

Very well done Dave. I like the simplicity and the play between light and shadow. The vegetation not only helps with scale but adds depth to the whole scene. Beautifully caught!

Beautifully crafted image of a nice scape. A tell take light and shade image. Love the depth you have achieved here by those subtle colors in the far off dune ..nice piece of work

That is one stunning picture! The composition with the juxtaposed blue and yellow parts is spot on, and the various curves in the sand are the icing on the cake. Nice!

Dave, the shapes of the dunes and their transition from light to shade works wonderfully. The subtleness of the shaded dunes is a great addition. The "speckles" of vegetation also work very well.

Lots to like in this image Dave. The contrast between sunlit and shaded areas and their resulting colour, some textured/ripple areas (some not), the tufts of vegetation for scale, the flowing abstract shapes... very nice! :toast:
