This year, winter is not so great in south India. But Christmas morning was chilled, you can see those due drops on the dragon fly. Merry Christmas and a Happing new year wishes to the entire NPN family... :toast:

Love the colors and detail in the DF's head. Super sharp, Swathiraj. The DF stands out brilliantly from the dark bg in the nice morning light. Beautiful! More dof of field, to show more of the wings and tail in focus, may have made this fine image even better, but you may not have been able to stop down more in the light. My only suggestion would be to crop the left of the image almost to the tail to reduce the illusion that the df is off center and "looking" out of the frame. I would have no problem with this empty space in front of the subject, but I'd crop it since it's behind the subject. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year to you as well. :toast: :wavey:

Swathiraj, I like the sharp detail in the head and the dew adds much interest to the image. I agree with Scott about the composition. But other than that, it is a pretty shot. Happy New Year! :toast:

The eye is very nicely sharp, I like how it dominates the larger image. The dew is a good addition and I really like the colors. I'm not sure what the lighting was here, but it seems strong with the black background and the deep shadows. The light and the direction its coming from is always one of the big challenges in insect macro work since they land where they want and don't care where the light is. I think having it come from the other side or even over your shoulder would let the details, especially the dew drops show up better.

Best wishes to you in 2015.
