Here is a busy bee hard at work in my garden. I will be posting a square version in Wildlife. Please look at the two, critique and tell me if they are ready for sale....and which one you like better. Thanks!

Hi Lucy. Are they ready for sale? They look ready to me, but I don't have a lot of experience in this genre. You have obviously done significant pp work, and I like the look, and I don't have any suggestions. I especially like the bg, and your pof looks right on the money. As to your second question, I do have a definite opinion - I prefer the pano wildlife post. Really like that comp and the additional flowers. Nice work.

I prefer the pano composition, but just by a slight margin. What does bother me is that in both versions the bee is not sharp. Not that I mind the softer colors, just for me macro insect photos need to be as sharp as possible. I do see where either could make a nice card or small calendar. Thanks for sharing.

I looked at the image in the wildlife forum also. I like this on better, but I think I would like a image that is a crop that is in between the two. About half way from the left on the image in the wildlife forum. Just my thoughts.

Hi Lucy, I prefer this one and like the background. I do find the OOF flowers a bit distracting in the pano version. I think I might try reducing slightly the filter effect, especially in the bee, but this is purely subjective. Nice capture.

I like your comp. Lucy, and the colors throughout work very well. In looking at the larger version the mottled nature of the flowers and the greens has me thinking photoart and creates an interesting contrast to the sharpness of the bee. This looks good to me, I wouldn't do more processing, unless you wanted to go full photoart on the plant.
I like this version over the wildlife version, mostly because in that one, I find the sharpness of the stamen near the left edge distracting. I think my choice would be something in between, a pano, but without the furthest left 1/4 that's in the wildlife post.

I like the pano version/comp best Lucy..
You don't say what filter effect you've used in the processing?
Well done & all the best this coming year

The only filters I used were NIK and Topaz sharpening, tonal contrast and denoise.
