Colored Mist 2

In trying to pick out my best (or top two or three) image(s) of 2014, I find myself reluctant to repost images, even from other Galleries (although I encourage you to do so, if you want). This is an alternate view of the mists rising from Grand Prismatic Spring to one that I posted in Landscape last June. As I wrote with the Landscape post, while I regularly see the colors in the mist here, this is the first time that I've been able to capture them well. I remember this as one of my favorites Mark, the colors are simply gorgeous.
I think you achieved your goal with respect to the upper layer of mist with 'flying colors' :jump:
Excellent :toast: :toast:

Lots of great color here, Mark, including the soft colors in the rising mist. I like the way the leading "S" lines lead the eye through the frame. Wonderful Yellowstone GP image. :toast:

The colors and the scene cry out "some other planet." But here we are nevertheless. A very alien world for sure. Not having visited there, I really don't have a feel for the colors but you did a nice job with color holding this all together. Love the mists with the greenish and purplish casts. Look toxic. Good contrast to the orange stuff. (pardon my technical jargon)

Mark, a striking and very colorful take on this area in Yellowstone NP. Having seen many different takes of this general area over the years this one does amazing justice to beauty of the site. I might be wrong but it does look like it might have been taken during some strong light, but it surely does not dampen the impact on visual quality at all.......

Beautiful colors, faithful to the original - the compositions complements them very well, and the lack of scale is, in my view, a real plus :toast:

Mark: I love Yellowstone and have many images from there that I like but not so many of the thermal features. This is wonderful. I especially like the color palette and the flow of the water through the frame. Well seen and superbly captured. >=))>

I don't believe this is Yellowstone, I think you hacked the Opportunity rover on Mars and are showing us a picture of that planet! But I love the alien look of this photo, especially the colors in the mist are well captured.

Really strong image, Mark! Love the curve, color,s and textures. The purples and blues in the sky are very natural but compelling
