Eastern Yellow Wagtail
by Ken Archer
One of the more difficult birds to photograph on the Seward Peninsula near Nome, Alaska. Although they are fairly easy to find and see, getting close enough to them for a good photo has been a supreme challenge. Luckily on the last day of our adventure last June we discovered a pair nesting near the edge of the road. This male would perch for us in this bush for a bit after delivering a meal to its mate on the nest.
Canon MKIV; 600mm & 1.4x; 1/160; f8; ISO 1250; photographed from the vehicle, lens resting a bean bag. Slightly cropped all around.
All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated
