From my trip down the Oregon/California coast a couple of years ago. I'm sure tighter crops would work for this image but for the record I used a lot of negative space to convey to the viewer the feeling of isolation that light housekeepers would experience. Also, I wanted the image to be more about what a light house does rather than it's features. Thanks for looking, comments appreciated.

The negative space works very well along with the relatively high key for a great depiction of a typical foggy coastal California day, Carey.

The negative space works well here, Carey, enhanced nicely by the subtle brightness variations in both the sea and sky.

The combination of the two tone image and the high key appearance make it seem almost desolate which does result in the feeling of isolation that you were trying to capture. Good choice for the challenge, Carey!

Marvelous interpretation of the Pigeon Pt lighthouse. Half Moon Bay has hundreds of postcards of this place yet none are like this. Great job.
