Blue Goose

A Blue goose coming in for a landing at the Bosque.

I know the background may not work for everyone, but I liked it because it was something completely different for the Bosque. There was a large (1000+) flock of red wing black birds flying in the background when this guy came in for his final approach.

Canon 7D Mark II

ISO 320

500mm f/4 L IS

The BG works for me, as does the pose of the goose. A real 'wildlife' image , not staged or adjusted. Well seen, and done ! Cheers, Hans

I like this one a lot Keith! Not only did you catch a rarer blue goose alighting, the background blackbirds add more interest in the image. As you said an unusual scene. Nicely seen and captured!

Sweet Photo

I like it, and definitely s different type of image, Keith. I didn't see any RWBB flocks there on our recent trip. Nice to have seen you there again.

The goose is beautifully captured.
I am one of those who finds the BG distracting and would like to see it softened a bit so that the goose stands out more.

Keith that's marvellous having that b/g made up of flying birds, did not know that these Redwing Blackbirds got into flocks of these numbers, nearly forgot the Goose, caught beautifully..

I like the flock as a BG Keith. It might not work in every case but it does here. Great Goose position in the frame too. :toast:

The background seems so removed that it works very well. Beautiful image.
