This was the first shot I took with my new tripod a couple of months ago. Wanted to try it out right away so on the way home from the store I stopped at Elk Island NP just as the sun was setting. Thanks for looking.

The bands of color surrounding the silhouette of the island are lovely, Carey. This creates a fine sense of being there, enjoying a peaceful sunset.

I think that the composition is excellent, and the colors just right. I also like the silhouette given by the very dark tress and reflection. Beautiful.

Very graphic and artistic image, Carey. Looks like someplace that you could photograph daily and come up with heaps of incredible images. No suggestions and it looks like your tripod is working fine.

Beautiful Carey. Love the color gradient and the silhouetted reflection. The comp is pretty centered and I wonder what it would look like offset to the right. Nice job on this and I think the new tripod works splendidly.

Wonderful colors, nice simple composition and a very calm, peaceful feel to this silhouetted island. The smooth water and island reflection makes this image. Glad you got a tripod!

I like the layers of light and color. I agree with the suggestion to crop this from the right just a bit. I also think the color could be brought down a notch or two. The trees and their reflection look nice.

Hi Carey,

I see this image, and I feel like chilling out in nature. The colors are just wonderful, and the silhouetted island is placed beautifully in the frame. This image has a wonderful ZEN feel about it.
Oh, maybe it's me, but I see a slight tilt to the image. It looks to need a slight CCW tilt.

Sweet shot
