or... maybe Dad?

I enjoyed capturing this juvenile Sandhill in formation with an adult flying out of the pond at the Bosque.

Larger version is much better on this one. 720 just didn't cut it.

Canon 7D Mark II
500mm f/4
1/1000 @ f/4
ISO 1250

Excellent synchronized flight, Keith. Crane pools I presume? Look forward to seeing you there again next week.

Looks very nice large Keith.. and at ISO 1250 no less.
Is the new AF system for the 7DII as good as they say it is?

I think it is excellent. I've been using the 5D Mark III for a couple of years now. The AF on that camera is fantastic. The 7D Mark II is certainly every bit as good and better with more cross type sensors. Canon seems to have figured out an excellent system.

Nicely done Keith...the positioning of the birds in the frame is superb!!!! Sounds and looks like the 7DII is a winner!

Exceptionally nice, Keith. Nice timing on the wings, tight formation and crisp throughout both birds. Amazing to me at f4 with 12 feet of distance across the two sets of wings.

You seem to be enjoying the new camera.

A superb in-flight capture, Keith! The soft background highlights the birds nicely but it's not so blurred that you can't get a sense of the environment. Nicely done! :toast:
