Patrick -Just my sort of shot ! People will say you can't do messy backgrounds but this shows you can. Its where the bird was and thats what makes it. As you have probably noticed I don't go for the plain backdrops much.
Just that one reed leaf in front but no big deal.
Great stuff. Grand looking bird too !!- and well positioned in the frame.

This is really great Patrick. Love the pose and background. Colors of the bird look right on. Sharpness and inclusion of the habitat are superb.

Everything is superb about this shot, Patrick! The exposure is perfect, with excellent natural colors, the bird is extremely sharp and detailed and the composition is particularly nice. The fan shaped diagonals of the grasses really give it an artistic, visual attractiveness plus the bird is positioned just right in the frame. Congratulations on this killer capture! :toast: :toast:

Really nice details and pose, Patrick. Sometimes it's hard to capture these Greenies in the open, but the environment is very nice. Square format works well for this. Well done !

Great colors and detail. Love the head feathers. I have only seen that once before. I agree the background is where it was.
