Bosque Del Apache - November 22

Had a chance to run down to the Bosque to work with the Canon 7D Mark II on flight images.

This is one of the frames with a Northern Shoveler.

The AF system on this new camera is very good. Able to track these quick flyers against all the backgrounds that I encountered.

Techs:
Canon 7D Mark II
500mm f/4
ISO 400
1/2500 @ f/4

Thanks for the status of the AF Keith. I am hoping to have my 7D MII before I hit Bosque next week, so hearing about the AF tracking wells what I was hoping to hear. I'll be down there from Friday morning until Monday afternoon, maybe I will run into you.
Nice sharp flight shot...really like the light blue on the wings. :toast:

Nice flight capture. Many of the shoveler drakes in my neck of the woods look like this. Their full colors haven't come in yet. I was shooting flying ducks with my 7D Mark II today also. The autofocus is very good.

Thanks for the report, Keith. How does the AF handle a teleconverter, or did you try that configuration?

I did not even put my teleconvertor on that day. A friend of mine was shooting with a 600 earlier in the week and used a 1.4x and had excellent results.
