The Other Side

This is other side of the natural bridge I posted a couple weeks ago. I was fortunate to hit nice light going downstream on day 1 of my backpack, and this warm reflected light on the other side on the return. This may seem overdone, but the reflected light was very strong and warm with pretty intense color. Still, comments or suggestions on the color would be appreciated. Escalante Wilderness, Glen Canyon NRA. D600, 24-85 @ 44, 1/80, f11, iso 400. Thanks for looking. :wavey:

Scott,

Love the comp and the light. The foliage through the arch looks like it could stand a touch of sharpening on my Macbook 13 with retina but you might see if anyone else comments on it. Beautiful mood in this - beautiful image period.

Nice capture Scott. My eye is really pulled deep into the scene. I particularly like the area through the bridge towards the bottom as it looks like stairs leading off to explore further. :toast:

Beautiful rendition of a sweet little spot. My only minor nit is that I'd like to see a bit more room below the top (bottom?) of the reflection and the edge.

I'd love to check this place out as I'm planning on heading to southern UT in the spring. What's the name of this creek?

Lovely light, and a nice composition. I do a have a couple of suggestions. There appears to be a cyan cast in the stones on the right side and the magenta in the foreground is a little strong. Also, the foliage on the right side looks a little flat.. You might also consider increasing the yellow saturation in the trees on the near side of the arch.

The reason I'm pointing these things out, Scott, is that this has the potential for a very nice print.

Scott, I really like this shot. The other angle was very nice also, but I think this might be more appealing even with the centering of the bridge. Does not look overdone to me at all in response to your comment. I could see some minor drop in saturation on the cyan, but overall this came out really nice.

Very nice, Scott. I'm familiar with canyon reflected light and this doesn't seem at all overdone. Quite natural, actually. Lovely image.

Very nice. Love the colors and light. Kind of wish I could see more of the top- the dark band seems cut off. I wouls prob burn the darker areas of the foliage to match the overall contrasts of the image. Beautiful spot and image.

This is another fine composition of this photogenic backcountry natural bridge. I also agree with Preston's suggestions. I prefer the previous composition for overall eye appeal and visual impact. But both are excellent.

Scott, I like this scene and composition very much. The rock and highlighted background really draws me into this picture. I agree the foliage in front of the rock face does look a little flat especially on the right side so I agree with Preston's suggestions here. Really a wonderful scene!

Scott, this is lovely with the window through the bridge into the distance and those terrific reflections in the stream. My only nit is that your larger version is only a little larger...doesn't look like 1200 px longest side...

Scott

Very nice, lovely riot of harmonious color. As mentioned earlier the tree on the right could be emphasized, but nice as is. I tend to find much work today over manipulated and over saturated, so found and naturally related subjects hone our vision.. The world isn't perfect, one of its challenges and delights!

Cheers. Tom

Great capture here Scott,

The light in this scene is just splendid, and you manged to Frame this one up perfectly to emphasize the wonderful reflection and the view beyond. I too would maybe do something with the tree on the right, to bring out a bit more, but this is darn nice as is.

I have been really enjoying your work from this area Scott.

Oh, this glow is simply fantastic! Just from a personal perspective, I would like to see a version with a significant crop on the left side. That left side, particularly the bottom of the tree, is a bit busy. I would focus in on the arch and creek glow. But that is just my opinion. But,no, this is not overdone at all; perfect exposure.
