Delphinium w/Repost

The background was more delphiniums but didn't help make a clean comp. Hence the wide aperture.

Taken at the Zilker Botanical Garden in Austin

Nikon D800 1/250 sec @ f/4.8

Thanks as always for taking a look and for your comments.

Beautiful flower Sanjay and nicely rendered. The background works well. I'd clone out those orphaned bits of vegetation on the right edge.

Very nice image of this Delphinium! I love the colors and comp. Your use of the wide aperture made a wonderful bg.

Beautifully serene image, Sanjay, the single bg flower at the bottom a nice counterpoint to the sharpness of the subject.

Hi Sanjay :wavey: Beautifully composed with vibrant color. and good light.. i wish the OOF BG bloom had more purple, and less white..

Excellent, Sanjay. I like the curving stem and the way the purple flowers "stand" out from the contrasting green bg. I agree with Albert about the oof flower in the bg, except that I'll further say I'd burn the light areas or maybe just clone them out.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Attached is a repost with changes. I had to re-crop to get the comp right after cloning out the oof flower.

Thanks,

Sanjay

Delphinium is one of those I have sweated over, but never come up with anything I wanted to show. This is quite good. I would consider taking out the orphans on the RHS. Not sure what to do with the OOF bunch on the bottom left. I don't think it adds a lot, but I think, for the sake of balance, I would leave it alone.
