A lake at low water level exposes the trunks leaving what once was floating vegetation draped over everything. Burr marigold adds a splash of late season color.

Excellent capture David! Exquisite composition on a subject most would just pass by and never see. Wonderful.

Glad I looked at this, David! The thumbnail isn't very attractive but when you open it up the details grab you and the diagonal composition suddenly makes sense. The large version is even better. About the only thing I can suggest would be to actually up the contrast just a bit (despite the deep shadows) as it would make everything a little more 3D.

I agree with the other comments. A fine image that I certainly would have walked right by. Well seen and photographed.

Excellent, David. It is an unusual composition, but it works quite well for me. It is a great mix of the subdued browns of the dead vegetation and the bright yellows of the flowers, fading out focus. Real nice.

The band of color is just the right touch in this composition. An elegant portrayal.

The composition is well seen, and has a beautiful sense of refinement to it David. The colors, composition, and details work in conjunctions together to form a elegant capture.
Well done

This sure shows a big water drop, David. There are lots of interesting details in the foreground log and enough flowers and tree bases in the distance to tell the story.
