Alien Invaders

These are from a spring trip to the Eureka Dunes in DV. I believe they are Yellow Desert Evening Primrose plants, Oenothera primiveris,(please correct me if you know better!) To me they looked like some sort of alien invasion erupting from the sand.

Canon T1i,f/16, 1/50 sec, ISO-200, 23mm, tripod.

PS: I too wish there was a bit more space on the bottom.

Dave: Oh this is FINE! I especially like the light and shadow play and the textures in the sand. I'm OK with the bottom although I might be tempted to clone/crop away the small plant in the RLC and the partial on the left edge. Well seen and captured.>=))>

Very interesting and creative image Dave. I like the pattern of the plants with different sizes and the dark shadows add interest. Well taken!

Great find. Agree with Bill's comment about tweaks, but this is cool-- a survival story-- alien looking in an alien environment.

This is a very interesting image. I like the patterns of the rosettes of leaves on the grainy texture of sand. :toast: .......................Jim

I'm a sucker for these kinds of images.  Always amazed at the power of plants pushing up through earth and rock.  Like the shadows too.
